The Chapel Hill community has been kind to us and we decided the best way to give back is by partnering with Extra Life to host a charity event with all profits going to Duke Children's Hospital! You are cordially invited to join us this year in making something memorable at The Gathering 2023.
Artists
Rob Alexander
Rob Alexander is one of the original twenty-five Magic: The Gathering artists; Ron Spencer, Mark Tedin and himself were the only remaining original artists still active as of Magic 2011. While Alexander primarily paints in watercolors,[1][2] his works are often so detailed that they are mistaken for acrylics and oils. He is known as Magic's "landscape guy" and has helped bring numerous planes to life. Outside of Magic he has worked on Vampire, Legend of the Five Rings, Middle Earth, and various other games; he initially got his start doing book covers.
Ken Meyer Jr.
Ken Meyer Jr has worked as an artist on projects as disparate as the wonderfully goofy Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters comic, the unapologetically dark Vampire the Masquerade /Eternal Struggle rpg/ccg, training materials for the Stealth fighter (on a base in the middle of nowhere), and of course, Magic the Gathering. Recent projects include ongoing artist portraits for the magazine Comic Book Creator, stage backdrop art for a band featuring the bass player for the live version of the hip hop band Public Enemy, and a constant stream of commissions. He remains an avid tennis player, huge music fan and dove chocolate lover.

Thraben U
Phil Gallagher (ThrabenU) is a Magic Youtuber who showcases fun and interesting decks in an educational way. He originally gained fame for his work on the Death and Taxes archetype in Legacy, though these days he plays a little bit of everything. You can often find him playing Commander at Magic Cons or guesting on streams in the evenings! He is also one of the hosts of The Eternal Glory Podcast.

Chase Carroll, also known as ManaCurves, is a Commander content creator. Their content focuses on advocacy in gaming spaces, commander gameplay, and deckbuilding. They enjoy long walks on the beach, riffle shuffling their decks (poorly), and playing shiny cards.

Corey Baumeister
My name is Corey Baumeister and I have been playing Magic the Gathering for 20 years! I have played in 30+ Pro Tours getting as high as a few top 32's and a ton of top 64 performances. I have top 8ted 7 Grad Prix's with one win coming at GP New Jersey. I have also won 4 SCG events and one SCG Invitational! Playing is still a big part of my Magic career but it is not the only aspect anymore. I'm a commentator for Wizards of the Coast and I have commentated 4 years worth of Pro Tours. I'm also a Streamer, Youtuber, Podcaster, and I run a very fun Patreon focused on competitive events!
